We are excited to announce an opening for a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef at our high-volume fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Downtown DC.Position Overview:Our Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in providing supportive leadership to our kitchen team, ensuring seamless service and exceptional dining experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, expediting orders to maintain top-notch taste and presentation, and stepping in as the Head Chef when necessary to provide clear direction to the team.Key Responsibilities:Prepare meals to meet guest specifications in a timely and efficient manner.Accurately measure kitchen ingredients and food portions.Ensure the kitchen team adheres to established standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements.Utilize kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers, and warmers effectively.Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality.Maintain proper food temperatures during cooking and storage.Keep workstations and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.Handle kitchen opening, closing, and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.Assist with hiring and training new kitchen team members.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in culinary science or formal culinary training in food preparation and culinary management preferred.
